We've been meaning to try dinner at Los Cabos for a long time, but have
been thwarted in the past by their relatively early closing time (8:30
pm). We did have breakfast here once, but it was so long ago that I
only have a vaguely positive recollection of it. It's a casual dinning
experience -- you order at the register, take a number, and your meal is
brought to you.
Anyway, I ordered the tacos plate (I chose steak and pork, respectively, with a mild green chile sauce), which came with rice and refried beans. Everything was very good. The meat was tasty and lean, and beans were about the best I've ever had. They could have gone a bit lighter on the minced raw onions that came with the tacos, but it was easy to scrape some off. They were out of Sol beer, so I settled for Modelo instead (It was just OK). My girlfriend had the shrimp enchiladas with fried eggs on top, and rice and beans on the side, which were also very good.
Chips come complementary with the meal, and there's a salsa bar where you can pick from at least 7 or 8 varieties. Beware though -- several of them are pretty hot.
It took a little longer than expected to get our orders, but I'll take quality over speed any time. And the owner was quite friendly, stopping by our table to see how our meal was. A very enjoyable dinner. I'm sure we'll be back.
