La Casita Restaurant

La Casita, Congratulations, you get my first 4.5. Your deliciously crispy and perfectly fried chips crunch, and then melt, in my mouth. Your salsa is fresh and has just the right amount of spice without making me want to rip my tongue out. Again, nicely done.

As a customer, you definitely have to be careful what you order here, as it can swiftly and completely change your opinion of this restaurant. First things first -- this is a rule that I adhere to, and have adhered to, since my initial experience dining here:

Do not order off the a la carte menu. Just don't do it, okay?

Meals I strongly advocate ordering:
*Seafood Enchiladas
*Seafood Soup
*Okay, really anything off the seafood menu, except the surf and turf
*Fajitas
*Gibo Special

I am probably an anomaly in that I don't really enjoy Mexican rice / beans, so because I rarely to never eat them, and wouldn't like them even if I did, I can't remark on their pro's or con's. My boyfriend, however, gives the rice two thumbs up. The beans are just "meh"

The meals are a bit on the pricier side for Mexican food ($10-$20), so be prepared for that. Also, it gets LOUD and BUSY here on weekend nights -- and naturally, service slows down because of it. So if you're coming with a hot date, maybe you should play it safe and bring him/her on a weeknite instead. Not a romantic atmosphere, but a great place to bring the kids. They can run around like wild banshees, and no one will even blink an eye.
